The most scenic part of the journey is from Au to Mellau along the Bregenzerach stream that runs through the forest between Au and Schnepfau and the Enge mid-elevation pasture. After Mellau, a cycling route continues along the L200 to Bezau, where one can cycle along a quiet side street to the village entrance of Reuthe-Baien. Continue on the cycle path parallel to the L200 to Andelsbuch-Bersbuch. After passing the hamlet, take the former route of the Bregenzerwaldbahn railway (gravel surface to the village centre of Andelsbuch) until Egg. One will need approx. 4 hours for the leisurely outward and return journeys.
