Brief description
This challenging ski tour is suitable for experienced ski tourers. The lovely downhill ski runs to the south west and north east from the Üntschenspitze, Schoppernau’s local mountain, are a delight. Üntschenspitze is pyramid-shaped. From the top, you have a wonderful view of the Bregenzerwald mountains.
Route description
The ski tour to the Güntlespitze starts in Hinterhopfreben at the Gasthaus Bad Hopfreben inn. Zig-zag along the forest path to Vorderüntschenalpe (1,759 m). First keep somewhat to the left and climb a beautiful south-facing slope to Häfnerjoch (1,979 m). From there, keep right to the partially corniced ridge to the summit.
Descent
a) Same as ascent to Hopfreben or
b) Via Häfnerjoch – Pisi-Alpe mountain pasture down to Schreckbach. Climb approx. 50 meters of elevation up to Pisi-Alpe and then take the agricultural path approx. 3.5 km to Schoppernau
