For many years, the village, which is a member of the e5 association and a climate-alliance municipality, has devoted itself to the topic of energy efficiency with a reliance on natural resources.

Artistic energy portals have been erected at numerous places around the village, including nearby high-points as well as other particularly picturesque places in the valley of the Bregenzerache. Each is devoted to the diverse forms of energy and their various wavelengths. Another worthwhile stop is the parish church with its Baroque features. The ceiling of the gallery features a painting of a woman wearing traditional Bregenzerwald Tracht dress, carrying a basket full of eggs. The neighbouring villages of Krumbach and Lingenau are easy and quick to reach by bus, on foot or with the car.
Activities
The village of Langenegg is beautiful, tranquil and located in the heart of meadows and forest. Choose from countless hiking trails in summer, including some that lead into the valley of the Bregenzerache. There are also attractive routes for mountain bikers and cyclists. Hiking is the best way to explore the scenery in winter. The closest ski areas are those in Riefensberg-Hochlitten and the Alpenarena Hochhäderich.

- The “Umgang Bregenzerwald” village walk provide insights into the design culture of Bregenzerwald. Rust-coloured pillars indicate the location of the various stations.
- The small village cheesemaking operation of Langenegg is an insiders’ tip for cheese lovers.
- A pepper grinder made from local wood, designed and produced by carpenter Bernhard Domig from Langenegg, is just one example of the products available at the Werkraumhaus Andelsbuch.
- Beautifully formed Raku-fired objects can be admired and purchased in the studio of Petra Raid. Ms Raid also offers courses.
