The Großes Walsertal, a neighbouring valley to Bregenzerwald, was declared a UNESCO biosphere park in the year 2000. In this special park that protects a variety of natural gems, the motto is ‘enjoying nature without endangering it.’ The best way to discover the area is by hiking.
Hiking tip
Along the flower educational trail, gain insights into the variety of plants in the Faschina area. There is an extraordinary variety of plants to be observed at the Hahnenkopf, the middle station of the Stafelalpe panorama cable car. On the way to the mountain station, there are more than 150 plant types to discover, e.g. the protected Turk’s Cap Lily (Lilium martagon). Signboards along the way provide info on what’s blooming and what can be observed.
