The agricultural village on the southern slope of the Pfänder mountain range, which boasts beautiful views of the Lower Bregenzerwald and the neighbouring Allgäu regions, has 1500 inhabitants. There are several inns in the village in addition to apartments and private room rentals.
Culture & Events
For those keen to attend events, museums or exhibitions in the Bregenzerwald region or the city of Bregenz (just 10 km away), Langen is an excellent location. Bregenz’s many museums, the Women’s Museum in Hittisau and the Juppenwerkstatt Museum in Riefensberg are also close at hand.
Activities
There are also numerous hiking trails that start from the village, e.g. trails in the direction of the Pfänder mountain or the Hirschberg, a nature reserve with a mountain hut serving food and drink. For archery fans, there is a 3D course in the neighbouring village of Doren. The Golfpark Bregenzerwald in Riefensberg is also located close by and so too is the Sulzberg cross-country ski area in winter. The nearest ski resorts are Riefensberg and Hittisau-Hochhäderich.
Tip
Langen is well connected to the public bus network, which means that you can easily travel to Bregenz or the villages in the Bregenzerwald region. Those who stay in Langen for three or more nights between 1 May and 31 October will receive the Bregenzerwald Guest Card, which is valid for free bus travel.
