Brief description
In spite of the steep grass slopes, the tour near Egg is a popular and frequently taken route. Thanks to the north-facing downhill slopes, the snow conditions remain good for quite a long time.
Route description
At the end of the car park, first take the winter hiking path towards Eggartsberg Vorsäß. Leave this path after a little while to turn uphill to the right towards the Falz Alpe mountain pasture, passing an Alpine hut to the right, over a crest, where a short downhill ski run takes you into a basin. After you cross the basin, take the quite steep route, with some tight bends, upwards through loose scrub and in an arc to the right past the Bühlen Alpe mountain pasture. Keeping right, continue up steep slopes under the rock falls of the mountain top into a hollow, and climb up a few metres to the summit plateau via a passage.
Descent
Same as ascent. When you reach the “basin” continue downhill on a winter hiking trail and then push on along it with short, easy opposing climbs, back to the car park. If you choose this descent route, you do not have to remove your skins.
