A visit to inatura is an exciting experience for young and old because touching and interacting are expressly encouraged! The journey starts at the Science Center with its countless experimentation stations and then on to the various habitats common in Vorarlberg: mountains, forest and water. Kids can scramble into a badger hole, watch bees at work, visually and acoustically experience an avalanche or reach out and pet fish. Another excursion leads through the human body: Step for step, kids can explore the organ system and the “miracle of the human body.”
The building and the halls of inatura are located in a special setting. After all, this is the place where the Rüsch company made Vorarlberg industry history from 1827 to 1984. During monarchy times, the machine works and iron foundry was known for its construction and manufacturing of hydro power plants. Later, machine tools and casting parts were produced.
This area has been home to the inatura museum since 2003. Historically valuable architectural details were cleverly integrated into the exhibition and interior design. The building also houses a small restaurant and a shop. A large, newly renovated city garden surrounds the Naturschau.
- Guided group tours are available.
- The restaurant and reception hall can also be rented for events such a kids’ birthdays.
