The Heimatmuseum (local museum) in Egg, which is located close to the church, is the oldest regional museum in all of Vorarlberg. It was founded in 1904 and was reopened again in 1988.
Life in former times
The focus of the collection is the Bregenzerwald region and especially Bregenzerwald Tracht clothing. In addition countless exhibits about agriculture, practices, customs and living culture are on display. There are also exhibits about weapons, ceramics, a relief of Bregenzerwald, a model of a typical Bregenzerwald house, geological pieces, christening & charitable gifts, etc.
There is also a permanent exhibition at the Egg Museum that features two special exhibitions every year.
