Cheese, cosmetic products and natural products are characteristic for the Bregenzerwald region. They can be bought in many places. Local dairy farms, super markets and drugstores most of the time offer a rather wide range of regional products.
Most of the shops are open from Monday to Friday between 8am and 12pm and between 2pm and 6pm. In many villages the shops are closed on Thursday afternoons. On Saturdays they are usually open between 8am and 12pm. The Cheese House in Andelsbuch is the only place in the Bregenzerwald where you can go shopping 7 days a week.
Cheese is probably the most typical souvenir from the Bregenzerwald region. If vacuum-packed it can be transported easily.
